I fell in love with this little charmer the second I laid eyes on it.
The hooks are waiting for the swing to be installed on this cute porch.
If I lived alone this would be the house I would buy. It is located in a charming community just blocks from downtown Deland.
When I walked in the door the sunlight was coming thru the windows and bouncing off the walls. The hardwood floor could be originals from 1905, I’m not sure. The sound of my heels clomping across the boards filled the rooms. There was no stuffiness like in some older homes and the feeling was light. I was amazed at the size of the kitchen in this small house. It has been updated with a newer sink and stove and my imagination begins to picture how it might have looked back in the day. I wondered who the woman of the house was that ran this kitchen. Pots boiling on the wood stove, the smell of fresh-baked bread in the air. The family room and dinning room both have windows that look out to the front yard and street so you can see your neighbors coming before they even ring the door bell. The bedrooms are small but I’m going to call them cozy, with a grin on my face. The stairs have been replaced but I know a place in Deland where you can find restoration pieces to return it to its original charm. The stairs leed to a finished attic space that can be used for storage space, closet space or an art studio. There was just something about this house that pulled my heart-strings, and I fell in love. So cozy and so darn cute.
